Stockhands conducts background checks for all employees and volunteers who will interact with minors participating in our programs. The Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities offers free background checks to Stockhands volunteers by appointment during regular business hours. Please note: Stockhands does offer alternate volunteer opportunities for those who prefer not to undergo the background check process. To learn more, reach out to volunteers@stockhands.org.

Community service hours only apply to volunteers who are approved and participate in designated activities. Volunteer training and other activities do not qualify for community service credit. Additionally, only volunteers who have completed volunteer training may qualify. Please use our contact form to reach out and determine whether you qualify.

Various policies and rules apply to all Stockhands volunteers. To remain a qualified volunteer, you must accept and abide by all such requirements. These include, but are not limited to, rules and policies defined in the Volunteer Handbook and verbal directives from the Stockhand’s staff, principals, and designated supervisors.
